Make it stand out

After taking several months off from teaching virtual courses outside of my day job, I had the pleasure of teaching an Unconventional Plying Techniques workshop this past weekend to a small and enthusiastic group online.

Because this workshop happened after a long break for everyone in my household, I was able to perfectly prepare my singles for demonstration ahead of time. I pulled little bits and pieces from my stash that were leftover samples from batt making demonstrations, other workshops, or that became a fiber tumbleweed during a project only to be discovered deep under a shelf later on.

I have a couple of niddy noddy’s but never expected I would get so much use out of a teeny one that was given to me. It’s what I would call a sample size and makes skeins that are around 28” that are just perfect little nuggets for keeping around for reference. Do you have a tool you thought was frivolous that has proven it’s value to you?
